Pebble Number Twenty-five: When sorrow knocks

January 25, 2014

When sorrow knocks upon your door open up. Give it a place to sit at the table. Look the blackness of your pain in the eyes and see all the wickedness it has to offer. Feel the fullness of its weight in your hand.  Offer it a cup of hot tea and sit in silence. Bring your full presence to the table and learn to love what you loathe about this forlorn place. Even this moment, which drains your spirit, is worthy of being seen, being known, and being treated with tenderness.
